چکیده

Since the mid 1990’s, advances in global positioning systems (GPS), microprocessors, actuators, controllers, plant/soil sensors and geographical information systems (GIS) have spawned the development of new, site-specific, variablerate techniques for chemical applications. At the same time, agricultural production has embraced other new technologies that increase the productivity of mechanized operations such as tractor auto-guidance systems. The combination of automatic tractor steering and variable rate technology is well suited for site-specific application of pre-emergence herbicides. With tractor guidance control and variable rate controllers, growers can increase the efficiency of chemical application by eliminating swath overlap, while increasing the efficacy of herbicide action by applying optimum rates based on soil texture.

Influence of herbicides on yield stability of winter wheat cultivars under different sowing rates

Yield variability of selected winter wheat cultivars under different sowing rate and selected application, was investigated during 2006-2008, in the Lower Silesia region (South-West Poland). Experiments with two varieties, two levels of sowing rate and seven herbicides, including untreated object were set up on the same field, using split-plot method. For evaluation of yield stability Kang'...

Evaluation of Soil and Water Conservation Technologies in Vegetable- Based Upland Production System of Manupali Watershed, Southern Philippines

Soil erosion and declining productivity resulting in low farm income have been the major constraints to the sustainability of the commercial vegetable production systems in cultivated uplands of the Philippines. Steep slopes, favorable climate, high fertilizer and pesticide application rates characterizes these production systems. Sustainability of upland vegetable production system and soil co...

Conservation Tillage for Vegetable Production

Conservation tillage is an effective sustainable production system for vegetables. No-till planters and transplanters and strip-till cultivation equipment are presently available for most vegetables. Lack of weed management tools (herbicides, cultivators, etc.) continues to be the cultural practice that limits adaptability of some vegetables to conservation tillage systems. Nitrogen management ...

The implications of spatially variable pre‐emergence herbicide efficacy for weed management

BACKGROUND The efficacy of pre-emergence herbicides within fields is spatially variable as a consequence of soil heterogeneity. We quantified the effect of soil organic matter on the efficacy of two pre-emergence herbicides, flufenacet and pendimethalin, against Alopecurus myosuroides and investigated the implications of variation in organic matter for weed management using a crop-weed competit...

Optimizing the Performance of Clethodim and Haloxyfop-R-Methyl Ester Herbicides on Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli L.) Control by Citogate and Turnip Vegetable Oil

In order to evaluate the potential of citogate and turnip vegetable oil in increasing the performance of barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli) control by colthodim and haloxyfop-r-methyl ester herbicides, two greenhouse experiments were carried out in the Research Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Birjand, Iran, in 2016; this study was based on a factorial arrangement as a completely r...
